Slow Tour: Part 4

It has been one month since my solo show came down from the walls of Sibley Gallery, but the Slow Tour continues and finishes here on my blog. A few days before I went to take the show down, I was struck with a melancholy feeling, not wanting it to end. How do you fully experience your first solo show? How do you not take it for granted? There were times I simply walked by the gallery and peeked in the windows. Other times I drove by slow at night, to see it glowing quietly behind the glass. Alas, I was reminded of the old saying about all good things. So, I chose to stretch it out here on my blog with the Slow Tour. An opportunity for those near and far to experience the show, as closely as possible to actually being there. And a chance to immortalize the body of work, as a cohesive expression - a wide sweeping gesture made in a moment in time. Thank you for sharing it with me. Below is the fourth and final installment in the Slow Tour. I hope you have enjoyed its complexities. The last (but certainly not least) room in the gallery housed more stitched pieces, drawings, photography, an inspiration wall, and a video piece, which was shown intimately on a small tv screen in a dark little corner.
"To Have, To Hold", 13" x 14", silk applique on vintage linen, $450
"Lavender Scent Box", 16" x 20" x 4", dried lavender in wooden box with curtains, SOLD

"Daybreak", digital C-print, edition of 10, 11" x 14", $700

On the wall between the windows in the back room, I installed a wall of lists, scraps, sketches and inspirations. I transported this wall and mounted it in the gallery exactly as it hung in my studio during the making of this collection.
